Members of the club will be travelling to North Wales to activate GW/NW-003 (Glyder Fawr) and GW/NW-004 (Y Garn). Situated on the A5 north of Capel Curig, these two peaks have a reasonable, non-strenuous hike and afford tremendous views across the Snowdonia landscape.
Details
We will travel to North Wales on Sunday 26th May, staying two nights in local accommodation (more details to be announced). The ascent of Y Garn is expected to start at 0800 UTC with activation expected around 1000 UTC. Followed by the ascent of Glyder Fawr, around 1200 UTC, with activation from around 1300 UTC. Actual times will be tweeted and posted on the day.
We expect to be operating QRP on 40m, 30m, 20m and possibly 18m. Details of actual frequencies in operation will be posted on the day.
Recce
Max (2E0MXA) and Andy (M0VVA) carried out a wintry reconnaissance mission at the beginning of April, unfortunately the weather was against them so no activation was achieved.
